Life is an ever changing series of events, when we stop to think about it. When we stop to examine it. Judge it. It keeps flowing all around us like the river painted above. We can try to control it. We can try to stop it up with a dam. But when we do that, we tend to forget how much energy we are expending for the sake of it. I mean if you look at the purpose of dams, they do just that. Hold up all that water to generate power, to control flooding, to manage the environment. All of that takes a shit ton of effort and expense.
When we release the dams in our life and just go with the flow that is presented to us, we might just find a certain amount of ease that we have never experienced before. When we release the tight grip we have over our schedules, our appearances, our families, our loved ones, and just let them all be what they will, we can finally notice the beautiful sounds that fills the air, the bubbling of the water, the rush of it all. The way it wants to be. The way that nature intended it to be.
Are you up for a few minutes of relaxation? Then please stop a moment and listen here: River Flowing Sounds that will put you right at ease.
Where in your life are you holding on too tight? Where are you stacking rock after rock, weaving stick after stick, only to find that at the end of each and every day, you’re just “dam” near exhausted?
I’m starting to examine this more and more. When I look at all the things in my life over time that I have tried to control, I just start to giggle and it sounds just like that babbling brook. The people, the places, the events that I thought I could manage if I just set up the correct system, if I just paid enough attention, if I just put in more effort. But most times, all those things just flowed through my fingertips and I was left with nothing much but a few drops here and there.
Can you let your life flow in the direction it wants to go this month? How about noticing what happens when you lessen your grip on your life’s events this week? Maybe just for today? Maybe just for the next hour? Can you hear the river flowing? Come on and jump in. And listen.
I really needed to hear this today
